>First Week In Sevilla

> well hello again. here i am in an internet cafe in Sevilla, España. let me just say that for however confusing the Euro keyboard is, it´s nice to have this –Ñ– at my disposal at all times without doing anything extrain the word processor. i arrive here last night (Saturday) and took thetaxi with the older gentleman whose map I had to read for him — he told me ‘eres muy guapa’. gracias. ‘no gracias, es la verdad’. have moved into my host family’s home. Sra. Puri (short for Purificación) has three other college students living with her who are hideous. They have been living here since January and barely speakSesame Street Spanish. i’d be a native by now, i think. oh, well. like i just wrote to my sister, whoever saidit spoke the truth: ‘youth is wasted on the young’. que lástima. am going to the feria tonight with the Sra. and her daughter, Selene. who is a bundle of energy. 10 years old. allergies like a fiend. and all girl. only all TEENAGE girl in her way. a backtalker anda googly eyed teen idol watcher. we have bonded over same. look up somewhere on the internet ‘Operación Triunfo’ — it appears to be a dancing/singingmusical group of 16 beautiful people who go around and do shows. Rosa, Veronica, Chenoa, Nuria, David Bisbal, David Bustamante, Gisela, etc. those are all the names I can remember from my orientation thismorning. we are going to see them in concert on may 23rd she says. okay. she asked me while i was showing her some of my photos, ¿eres famosa? no. no soy famosa. pero, conozco a unas personas famosas. ay, Dios. me voy. Que le vaya bien

About Me

I’m Christi, and I have been writing, well, since I learned to write as a little girl. I learned in my 40’s that writing saves lives and sanity, and that is exactly why I am still here.
